๐ JUNE 2021 - The Rumors Begin ๐
Hey everyone! I'm hearing some WILD rumors about Sonic Movie 2 from my friend who works at Paramount. Can't say much but... two tails might be involved ๐
Anyone else hearing anything? This could be HUGE if true!

TAILS?! Are you serious right now?? I've been waiting for this since the first movie! Do you have any other details?
I'm calling BS on this. Paramount would never leak info this early. Plus, how would they even do Tails? The CGI budget would be insane.
But hey, I'd love to be wrong! ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Actually... I might have some info too. My cousin works in VFX and mentioned something about "orange fur rendering tests" last month. Didn't think much of it until now! ๐ฆ
Guys, I just checked some industry forums and there's definitely chatter about Sonic 2. Multiple sources mentioning "classic characters" returning. This might be legit!
Also heard they're looking at a 2022 release date. Thoughts?
OMG OMG OMG! If Tails is really in this movie I might actually cry tears of joy! ๐ญ
I've been a Tails fan since Sonic 2 came out and seeing him on the big screen would be a DREAM COME TRUE!
Please let this be real! ๐
๐ฅ JULY 2021 - More Concrete Evidence ๐ฅ
Alright, I'm going to drop some MAJOR info here. I work in the industry (can't say where) but I've seen some early footage.
Tails is 100% in the movie. And he's not alone. There's a red echidna too.
That's all I can say for now. Believe it or don't! ๐ค
InsiderLeaks wrote: There's a red echidna too.
KNUCKLES?! NO WAY! This can't be real! Both Tails AND Knuckles in one movie?!
My heart can't take this level of hype! ๐ชโค๏ธ
InsiderLeaks wrote: There's a red echidna too.
DUDE! This lines up with what my friend told me! He mentioned something about "multiple animal characters" but wouldn't elaborate!
This is getting REAL! ๐ฅ
I'm still not buying it. Adding TWO new major characters seems like too much for a sequel. They'd want to focus on Sonic's character development first.
But I admit, the consistency of these "leaks" is interesting... ๐ค
Has anyone heard anything about voice actors? If they're really adding Tails and Knuckles, they'd need some big names!
I'm hoping they get the original voice actors from the games! ๐ญ
Just saw some suspicious activity on IMDB. Someone added "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" with a 2022 release date, then it got removed quickly.
Something's definitely happening behind the scenes! ๐
If Knuckles is really in this, I wonder if they'll include the Master Emerald storyline? That would be EPIC for the big screen! ๐
Imagine the action sequences they could create! ๐คฉ
โก AUGUST 2021 - The Plot Thickens โก
Okay, throwaway account here but I have MAJOR plot details. Don't ask how I know.
Dr. Robotnik returns with a new partner - Knuckles. Tails helps Sonic. There's something about emeralds and ancient echidna history. Hawaii filming location.
That's all I'm saying. Take it or leave it! ๐๏ธ
PlotLeaker wrote: Knuckles works with Robotnik initially
This actually makes perfect sense! In the games, Knuckles was tricked by Robotnik in Sonic 3!
If they're adapting that storyline, this could be AMAZING! ๐ฎ
I live in Hawaii and there's definitely been some movie production activity on the islands recently! Lots of equipment and crew around certain beaches.
Could this be the Sonic 2 filming? The timing matches! ๐บ
Has anyone confirmed if Jim Carrey is returning as Robotnik? I can't imagine the movie without him! His performance in the first one was PERFECT! ๐ฅ
Really hoping he's back for round 2!
I work in casting and can confirm that Idris Elba has been in talks for a major voice role. Can't say more but... think red and spiky! ๐
Also, Jim Carrey is definitely returning!
CastingSpy wrote: Idris Elba... think red and spiky!
IDRIS ELBA AS KNUCKLES?!
That would be INCREDIBLE casting! His voice would be perfect for the tough echidna warrior! ๐ช
I'm getting more hyped by the day! ๐ฅ
Still no word on who's voicing Tails though! I'm really hoping they get someone who can capture his youthful energy and loyalty to Sonic! ๐ฆ
Any casting rumors for our favorite two-tailed fox?
Just spotted what looks like Sonic movie production trucks in Vancouver! They're definitely filming something big up there too!
The scale of this production seems MASSIVE compared to the first movie! ๐ฌ
๐ญ SEPTEMBER 2021 - Cast Confirmations ๐ญ
GUYS! Just saw on Twitter that Colleen O'Shaughnessey might be voicing Tails! She's been his voice in the games for years!
If true, this is PERFECT casting! She IS Tails! ๐ญ
NewsBreaker wrote: Colleen O'Shaughnessey might be voicing Tails!
OMG YES YES YES! ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
She's been the perfect Tails voice for so long! Having her in the movie would be a dream come true for game fans!
This movie is going to be PERFECT! ๐งก
The fact that they're using game voice actors shows they really care about the source material! This gives me so much hope for the movie! ๐ฎ
Idris Elba + Colleen O'Shaughnessey = Perfect casting! ๐
Another throwaway account, but I work in post-production. The CGI work on this movie is INSANE.
Tails' flying scenes are going to blow people's minds. And Knuckles' fight choreography is brutal in the best way.
This movie is going to be a visual masterpiece! ๐จ
ProductionSpy wrote: Knuckles' fight choreography is brutal
I'm so ready for some epic Knuckles fight scenes! His gliding and punching abilities could make for some incredible action sequences! ๐
Can't wait to see him in action!
Has anyone heard anything about the soundtrack? The first movie had some great music, and with Tails and Knuckles joining, I'm hoping for some epic themes! ๐ต
Maybe they'll remix some classic Sonic game music? ๐ถ

The wait is killing me! ๐ซ
Based on typical marketing schedules, I'd expect the first trailer around December or January. They'll want to build maximum hype for the April release! ๐
The wait will be worth it! ๐ฅ
